Mixing these two herbs together is key for the absorption. The black pepper increases the absorption rate by 2000%. It is quite crucial for these to be mixed together. 

The black pepper can be in any form such as grinded, whole pepper corns, fine ground black pepper as well. Cayenne pepper works as well becuase the capsaicin.
